Recently, cloud computing company Lambda announced a large-scale AI infrastructure cooperation agreement with Microsoft. According to the latest press release, Lambda will deploy tens of thousands of Nvidia GPUs in this collaboration, but the specific transaction amount has not been disclosed. These GPUs include the recently released Nvidia GB300NVL72 system, which has started shipping in recent months.
Stephen Balaban, CEO of Lambda, said in the press release: "It is exciting to see the Microsoft and Lambda teams working together to deploy these massive AI supercomputers. Our partnership with Microsoft has lasted over eight years, and this collaboration is an important milestone in our relationship."
Microsoft launched the Nvidia GB300NVL72 cluster in October, demonstrating its continuous investment in AI computing power. Lambda, founded in 2012, has stood out in the current AI boom, having raised $1.7 billion in venture capital, reflecting the strong market demand for AI infrastructure and computing power.
This news was released just hours after Microsoft announced a $9.7 billion AI cloud capacity deal with Australian data center company IREN. At the same time, OpenAI also announced a $38 billion cloud computing agreement with Amazon, which will use Amazon's cloud services over the next seven years. In addition, OpenAI also reached a $30 billion cloud computing agreement with Oracle in September.
AWS, Amazon's department, reported in the third quarter financial results that annual operating income is expected to reach the best level in three years, with sales so far reaching $33 billion. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said: "The growth rate of AWS is unprecedented since 2022, and we are fully committed to accelerating capacity expansion.
