OpenAI and Oracle jointly announced that they will build a data center campus with a capacity of more than 1 gigawatt in Saline, Michigan, USA. This project, named "Stargate," is expected to start construction in early 2026, aiming to support the growing demand for AI computing power.
The construction of this data center campus is part of a massive investment plan, involving billions of dollars funded by a consortium. As the project progresses, it is expected to create over 2,500 union construction jobs, as well as 450 on-site jobs during the operation phase, 1,500 county-level support jobs, and thousands of indirect job opportunities. This not only helps promote local economic development but also ensures the United States' leadership position in the global AI technology competition.

The data center campus will cover 250 acres and will focus on environmental sustainability. The construction will use LEED-certified design and will be equipped with a closed-loop cooling system to reduce energy consumption. In addition, DTE Energy will provide 100% of the power support, with an energy plan combining existing resources and new battery storage investments, aiming to benefit local customers.
The collaboration between OpenAI and Oracle is not only to meet the increasing demand for computing power but also to solidify both companies' leadership positions in the field of artificial intelligence technology. The progress of this project will further promote the development of the United States on the global technology stage.
It is worth noting that market investments carry risks, and investors should proceed with caution.
