The Claude for Excel plugin is now in the testing phase, with some commercial customers able to experience it in advance. This plugin is powered by Sonnet4.5, enabling direct analysis, editing, and commentary on spreadsheets within Excel, thereby improving work efficiency.

This update also introduces real-time data connection capabilities, supporting multiple data providers including Moody's, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), and Aiera. These new features provide financial analysts with a more convenient way to access data, aiding their work in due diligence and company analysis. In addition, Claude has added six new agent functions aimed at further automating standard analytical tasks.

With these new features, Anthropic is now directly competing with platforms like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. Although the reasoning models of these platforms have made progress in mathematical tasks, it remains unclear about their error rates in daily office work. Therefore, users should still be cautious when using these systems to avoid potential errors.
