In Google's latest earnings report, CEO Sundar Pichai stated that artificial intelligence (AI) is positively impacting every business area of the company. He noted that new features such as AI Overview and AI Mode have performed well, driving the company's performance growth. According to Alphabet's second-quarter earnings, Google's revenue reached $96.4 billion, a 14% increase from the previous year. Of this, Google Search revenue reached $54.1 billion.

Pichai also mentioned that Alphabet plans to increase capital expenditures to $85 billion, an additional $10 billion compared to the previous plan, showing the company's desire to keep up with the data center construction pace of companies like OpenAI and Meta. Anat Ashkenazi, Alphabet's Chief Financial Officer, said in the earnings call: "Our outlook reflects additional investments in servers and accelerated data center construction, mainly to meet the needs of cloud customers."

According to recent surveys, the AI Overview feature has been successful in quickly providing answers, but this may lead to a decrease in users clicking on other websites. In addition, the AI Mode has over 100 million monthly active users in the United States and India, while the AI Overview has over 2 billion monthly active users across more than 200 countries and regions and 40 languages. Pichai also pointed out that younger users tend to increase their search frequency after experiencing these AI features.

In the second quarter, Google also held its annual I/O Developer Conference, launching numerous new AI-related features, including the AI Mode for search, upgrades to video and image generation models, and the introduction of Gemini AI in Chrome. Additionally, Google showcased a stronger smart reply feature in Gmail.

At the same time, Google is facing a ruling in a U.S. Department of Justice antitrust case, which was in the remedial phase during the second quarter. Last August, a judge ruled that Google is a "monopolist," potentially facing the risk of being split. In addition, Google has updated its "G" logo for the first time in a decade.
