Wang Jingmi wrote on his social media: "I just received the notice that the AWS Shanghai AI Research Institute (also the last overseas research institute of AWS) has officially been dissolved. Over the past six years, I had the opportunity to lead the team during the golden period of foreign enterprises' research institutes, and I am grateful for the careful guidance of Professor Zhang Zheng. I was honored to become the youngest Chief Applied Scientist in AWS Asia-Pacific region." This news quickly attracted attention from the industry.

Regarding this matter, an Amazon spokesperson said: "After a thorough evaluation of our company's organization, development priorities, and future strategic direction, we have decided to reduce the staff of some AWS teams. Making these decisions is very difficult for us, and we will fully support the employees in smoothly transitioning. These necessary decisions are made to continue investing and optimizing resources, bringing more innovation to our customers."
