Cisco to Acquire Splunk for $28 Billion, Enhancing Security in the Era of Enterprise AI

Cisco launches the new router Cisco8223, which uses Cisco's proprietary Silicon One P200 ASIC and achieves a transmission speed of 51.2 Tbps. Combined with 800 Gbps coherent optical technology, it supports connections up to 1000 kilometers, helping data center operators overcome power and capacity limitations, and integrating existing facilities into a unified computing cluster.
Cisco recently released a research report on CEOs in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The report shows that while 97% of CEOs plan to integrate AI into their businesses, only 2% believe they are ready for AI. This survey covered over 2,500 CEOs from more than 250 companies across Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, all aged 25 and older. In 2024, NVIDIA significantly increased its efforts in venture capital, investing as much as $1 billion across 50 different funding rounds and several corporate acquisitions. This figure marks a substantial rise from $872 million and 39 funding rounds in 2023. After profiting $9 billion from AI chip sales, NVIDIA is concentrating resources on 'core AI' companies that require substantial computing power, many of which are also NVIDIA's clients. Cisco Systems recently launched two data center devices optimized for artificial intelligence (AI) models at a partner event in Los Angeles. These new systems will further enhance Cisco's hardware product lineup to help enterprises efficiently handle AI-related workloads. The first product line introduced is the UCS C885A M8 series servers, which can support up to eight graphics processing units (GPUs), providing robust computing power for enterprise users. Cisco offers three GPU options for this series.
