Alibaba Cloud announced today that its developed network agent WebSailor has been officially open-sourced. The construction plan of WebSailor and part of the datasets are now available on GitHub, marking an important step for Alibaba Cloud in promoting open innovation in the AI field.
According to Alibaba Cloud, in the practical test results of the English and Chinese versions of the BrowseComp benchmark dataset, the WebSailor-32B and WebSailor-72B versions have demonstrated outstanding performance. They not only achieved significant advantages among open-source models and Agent groups, but also surpassed several closed-source models including DeepSeek R1 and Grok-3, with their performance being second only to the closed-source OpenAI DeepResearch.
The open-sourcing of WebSailor is expected to accelerate the development of network agent technology, providing developers and researchers with powerful tools to explore more efficient and intelligent ways of understanding and interacting with web content.
