Kuaishou recently announced the launch of its new end-to-end generative recommendation system, OneRec. This move has achieved dual breakthroughs in both effectiveness and cost, marking a new milestone in recommendation technology. OneRec leverages advanced large model technology to comprehensively reshape the traditional recommendation architecture, significantly improving computational efficiency.

In particular, OneRec has increased computational volume by an astonishing 10 times, with utilization rates of computing power reaching 23.7% and 28.8%. This technological advancement has reduced Kuaishou's operational costs to only 10.6% of those of previous traditional recommendation solutions. In other words, Kuaishou can now provide higher-quality services at lower costs while maintaining its competitive edge in the fiercely competitive short video market.

Currently, OneRec has been fully launched on the Kuaishou app and the Quick Edition, handling approximately 25% of the requests per second (QPS). The implementation of this system has significantly increased user dwell time and lifecycle, further enhancing user experience. This new system not only helps Kuaishou improve service efficiency but also makes content acquisition more personalized and intelligent for users.

This upgrade by Kuaishou marks the entry of recommendation systems into a new phase called "end-to-end generative awakening." With the promotion of OneRec, Kuaishou expects to attract more users in the future and achieve higher user engagement. This is not only a major benefit for Kuaishou itself but also brings new thinking directions to the entire short video industry.

Through the OneRec system, Kuaishou demonstrates its forward-thinking approach in technological innovation and user experience. How it will apply this system in the future remains something we should continue to pay attention to.
