Andrew Bosworth, the Chief Technology Officer of Meta, recently confirmed that Meta is collaborating with the eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica to develop smart glasses under the Oakley brand. This move signifies the deepening of their partnership since the launch of Ray-Ban Stories in 2021 and marks the first specific product plan following the announcement in late 2024 to extend their collaboration until 2030.

Although specific details about the Oakley smart glasses have not been disclosed yet, this collaboration is certain to enrich Meta's lineup of smart glasses. Previously, Meta has successfully launched two generations of Ray-Ban smart glasses with EssilorLuxottica, gaining extensive experience.

By extending the collaboration to the Oakley brand, this signals Meta's ongoing commitment to wearable technology and its focus on market segmentation. Oakley is renowned for its high-performance sports glasses, and this collaboration is expected to integrate smart technology into sports and outdoor scenarios, offering consumers a new experience.
